About:
Building on the fantastic success of the 2023 race, Dolphin Coast Striders proudly present the Balwin Sport Dolphin Coast Marathon on 17 March 2024.
Featuring 42km, 21km, 10km and 5km distances, the race forms part of the exciting Balwin Sport Marathon Series – a first in South Africa.
The Old Course is back on the M4 Coastal Highway from Ballito to Durban. The 21km starts at Sibaya and the 10km starts at Virginia and the Finish for all the races is on the world class Durban Promenade.
Bus transport is available to the starts of 42km, 21km and 10km at a cost of R150. Busses leave from 03h00 from behind the Tourism Office on the Marine Parade above the finish venue.
Simply participating gives the runners a chance to win a fully furnished Balwin Properties apartment worth R800 000.
THE OLD COURSE IS BACK!
Runners asked us to go back to the old route and we listened! For the 2024 edition we will be reverting back to our old route. The Balwin Sport Dolphin Coast Marathon will start in Ballito, run down the M4 along the spectacular Dolphin Coast, and finish at the Amphitheater on the Durban Promenade, a point to point marathon, you will have spectacular view from start to finish, giving you everything beautiful that only KZN can offer. And of course, this route is a good one to use as a qualifier, especially considering you have the ultimate Comrades Legend ‘Barry Holland,’ organising the race. Having finished 49 Comrades races consecutively and going for his 50th medal, we think he knows what it takes to qualify!
